The Dongfang College, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, is a teaching-oriented college. With economics, management as its major disciplines, the college insists on a harmonious development with disciplines covering economics, management, humanity, law, art, science and technology. With the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, the Dongfang College was jointly founded in 1999, and approved and confirmed as an independent private-run college by China’s Ministry of Education in 2004. In September 2010, it was moved from Wenhua campus in Hangzhou city to Chang’an campus in Lianhang economic development zone of Haining city, Zhejiang Province. Currently, there are nearly 10,000 full-time undergraduate students.
Located in Lianhang economic development zone of Haining city, a historical cultural city well-known as “the Capital of Fur Clothing”, the Dongfang College has a total area of about 1000mu(165 acres) and the building floor space up to 310,000 square meters. Transportation is quite convenient, with college being close to Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and Hangzhou-Pudong expressway, roughly 10 kms from Xiasha campus of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. Besides, students enjoy a serene and convenient campus life with advanced living and teaching facilities.
The Dongfang College has attached great importance to the harmonious development of the discipline construction, program construction and the task of cultivating practice-oriented, inter-disciplinary and pioneering talents to make more contributions to the economic and social development. There are 8 schools in the Oriented College: School of Finance, Economics and International Trade, School of Finance and Taxation, School of Business Management, School of Accounting, School of Information Technology, School of Law, School of Humanities and Art, and School of Foreign Languages. It offers a breadth of 30 undergraduate disciplines including finance, taxation, administrative management, labor and social security, accounting, auditing, financial management, assets evaluation, finance, insurance, business management, project management, marketing, human resource management, logistics management, information management and information system, computer science and technology, electronic commerce, statistics, law, economics, international economics and trade, English, Japanese, Chinese language and literature, advertising, visual communication design, environmental design, products design, clothing and apparel design.
