Cultural Exchanges Between China and Kazakhstan and International Exhibition of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy

September 28th, the Sino-Kazakh cultural exchange and the International Exhibition of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy was opened in Astana. This Exhibition was hosted by ZUFE, National Gumirev Eurasian University, Zhejiang Provincial Calligraphers Association and Zhejiang Provincial Calligraphy Education Association. Vice presidents of Eurasian University, Som Zhulik, Kanayev and Kamza Bekuli, teachers and students and representatives of local Chinese, nearly 200 people attended the opening ceremony. Huang Jianxin, vice president of ZUFE, was invited to lead a delegation to Kazakhstan to attend the ceremony.


At the opening ceremony, Zhang Xiao, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan, sent a congratulatory letter to express his warm congratulations on the success of this exhibition. In his speech, Huang Jianxin pointed out that Kazakhstan and China are genuine neighbors and good partners. And he believes that through cultural exchanges, the friendship between the Chinese and Kazakh peoples will be enhanced and the construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative will be promoted.


Over 130 paintings and calligraphies by Chinese artists and more than 50 paintings and photographs by Kazakh artists are on displayed. Lasting for nearly a week, this exhibition has attracted more than one thousand teachers and students from Eurasian University and local Chinese, which has caused a great response in local area.


During the exhibition, Huang Jianxin and the delegation also went to visit the Confucius Institute at the Eurasian University.

In response to the “Belt and Road” Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, this exhibition is an active practice of implementing the “going out” strategy of Chinese culture. It has played an active role in promoting the cultural exchange between China and Kazakhstan.
