China's Third Frontier Forum on Forecasting Science Held at ZUFE

On May 9, the 3rd Frontier Forum on Forecasting Science of China was held at ZUFE's Xiasha campus. More than 200 experts and scholars, from over 50 domestic universities and scientific research institutions, were present at this forum. Jinchang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhengxin Wang, dean of the School of Economics.

In Jinchang Li's speech, he expressed his congratulations on the opening of the forum on behalf of the university, and extended his welcome and thanks to all the participating experts and scholars, then made a brief introduction to ZUFE. He said that the university would take the opportunity of hosting this forum to further promote the integration and development between emerging disciplines such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and traditional disciplines of Economics and Management, and continuously improve the construction of ZUFE's clusters of Economics and its related disciplines, elevating its ability to provide social services and conduct collaborative innovation. Also, ZUFE would contribute wisdom and strength to the implementation of the "Eight-Eight Strategy" proposed in 2003 for the development of Zhejiang Province, creating an "important window" and a pioneering province for socialist modernization drive, and building a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

Keynote reports were respectively given by Professor Shouyang Wang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Dongxiao Niu of North China Electric Power University, Professor Yong Zhou East of China Normal University, Professor Guohua Zou of Capital Normal University, Professor Lean Yu of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Cuihong Yang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Junjie Wu of Beihang University, Professor Yuejun Zhang of Hunan University, Professor Wei Xie of Peking University, and Professor Tianhu Deng of Tsinghua University. The reports were colorful and informative, providing new perspectives, reference systems, and tools for the development of predictive scientific research, and resonating with the scholars present.

This forum was co-sponsored by the Council of China Frontier Forum on Forecasting Science, the Management and Decision Science Technical Committee under the Chinese Academy of Management (CAM), and ZUFE, aiming to discuss the scientific theories and methods on predictive science in the context of big data and AI, and the latest research results of their applications in economics and finance, thus strengthening the exchanges and cooperation of experts and scholars in prediction-related disciplines at home and abroad, building a high-end platform for academic exchanges, and promoting the cross-integration, penetration and development of forecasting disciplines.
