Recently, Times Higher Education has released the 2022 annual young university ranking, and ZUFE entered the list for the first time, ranking 251-300. 11 universities in mainland China were listed in this ranking, among which ZUFE was ranked seventh.

The Times Higher Education University Rankings, together with QS, U.S. News, and ARWU, are known as the four most influential and authoritative university rankings in the world. The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings focus on research output, teaching quality, international outlook, and other indicators of universities founded 50 years ago or less, reflecting the trend of young universities.

A total of 539 universities from 74 countries and regions entered the list in 2022, with Paris Sciences & Lettres-PSL University, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ranking in the top three.
