Recently, the 4th Chinese Classic Recitation, Writing, and Speaking Competition -- “Brush and Ink in China” Chinese Character Writing Competition (Zhejiang Division) came to an end. All the calligraphy works of Zhou Yuqian, Liang Nan, and Wang Shengda, who are junior students of Calligraphy and the Calligraphy Industry of ZUFE's School of Arts (under the guidance of Professor Xu Wenping), have won awards and advanced to the national finals, ranking among the top universities in the province in terms of competition results.
Launched in April this year, the competition attracted more than 8,300 participants, and 2,192 works were ultimately selected for the provincial competition. Among them, the top 40 award-winning students from the college students group in the brush category would participate in the national finals.
The Writing Competition of “Brush and Ink in China,” one of the four competitions of the Chinese Classic Recitation, Writing, and Speaking Competition hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Language Commission, has been held for four sessions. The theme of this year’s competition is “Learning Chinese Classics for a better future.” Through recitation, explanation, writing, seal cutting, and other manifestation of the language and characters, the competition aims to promote the fine language and culture of China, draw wisdom and strength from Chinese classics, deepen commitments to ideals and convictions, and demonstrate the contemporary spirit, to create a sound cultural atmosphere for paving of the way to a successful 20th National Party Congress.
