ZUFE Delegation Visits Universities in the UK and Ireland

From May 6 to 13, Cheng Shuang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, led a delegation on visits to the University of Leeds, the University of Manchester in the UK, and University College Dublin in Ireland explore and expand international educational cooperation.

At the University of Leeds, the delegation met with Vice President Jeff Grabill, along with representatives from its Business School, the Graduate School, and the International Office. Cheng Shuang noted that the two universities share broad prospects for collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, postgraduate joint training, and academic exchanges. He stated that the two universities hope to seize historical opportunities, foster extensive cooperation and collaboration, and confront the challenges together through this visit. The two sides reached consensus on establishing a friendly institutional relationship and advancing practical cooperation in faculty and student exchanges and academic exchanges. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on the joint “4+1” Undergraduate-to-Master Program and Postgraduate Joint Training Program in the fields of economics, finance, and management.

At the University of Manchester, the delegation received a warm welcome from Duncan Ivison, President and Vice-Chancellor. They also met with the head of the Alliance Manchester Business School and several Chinese professors, engaging in academic exchanges and cooperation discussions.

At University College Dublin (UCD), the delegation met with Wang Liming, Director of the UCD China Institute. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on co-hosting academic conferences and collaborative research.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the UK branch of Haijiao Technology and the Red Shirt Society, discussing measures to deepen university-enterprise cooperation for coordinated talent recruitment and build a market-oriented talent recruitment mechanism. The delegation also held discussions with Chinese scholars and PhD candidates working and studying at renowned universities in the UK and Ireland, extending sincere invitations to outstanding overseas talents to visit ZUFE for exchanges and cooperation.

This visit represents an important measure for ZUFE to advance its “"New Finance and Economics Strategy"” and to build new development advantages through international exchange and cooperation. It is of great significance for expanding channels of international exchange and cooperation and enhancing the international influence of the university and its disciplines.

Representatives from the Office of Human Resources, Organization Department, Publicity Department, School of Finance, and School of Management accompanied the delegation on the visit.
