On April 11, the 19th “Dreaming in Zhejiang, Singing for the Future” Chinese Singing Competition for International Students concluded successfully. After fierce competition, ZUFE international students TANAYA CHRISTANIA CHAVELLE from Indonesia (performing “The Last Page”) and OMAROVA ADELIYA from Kazakhstan (performing “Left Hand Pointing to the Moon”) both won the Provincial Third Prize.

The competition was jointly organized by the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, the Zhejiang Provincial Government Information Office, the the Zhejiang Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Zhejiang Radio and Television Group. It was one of the events under the 19th “Dream Trip in Zhejiang” series of events for international students. The competition aimed to use songs as a bridge to convey international students’ genuine love for the Chinese language, culture, and life. The event attracted over 300 international students from more than 40 universities across the province, with participation hitting a record high. The competition ultimately awarded 3 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes, and 12 Third Prizes.

Since the launch of the competition, ZUFE made active preparations by specially offering an elective course titled “Appreciation of Chinese Song” and holding a campus-level Chinese song competition for international students. ZUFE organized students to sign up enthusiastically, while teachers provided dedicated guidance, allowing international students to “understand China” through singing Chinese songs and experience the unique charm of Chinese songs, sparking an upsurge of enthusiasm among them for learning Chinese songs and experiencing Chinese culture.
