On Jun 25, 2022, the International Symposium on Management Science Innovation in the Era of Digital Economy was successfully held at ZUFE. The symposium was sponsored and hosted by the School of Information Management and Artificial Intelligence of ZUFE.

The symposium was held both online and offline and presided over by Professor Zhang Wenyu, Dean of the School of Information Management and Artificial Intelligence. Professor Fan Weiguo from the University of IOWA, Professor Wei Jun from the Business School of the University of Florida, Professor Paul Messinger from the Business School of the University of Alberta, Doctor Atika Qazi from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Professor Liu Guangyu from the School of Information Management and Artificial Intelligence of Hangzhou Dianzi University gave keynote reports and presented their research findings. Focusing on digital transformation and AI applications, and fintech and risk management innovation, the symposium probed into the frontiers of management science.

Professor Fan Weiguo argued that the main patterns of enterprise innovation in the era of the digital economy were open innovation. With the help of open innovation communities, enterprises could collect from different user groups a large amount of knowledge and information that was urgently needed for innovation and development, and at the same time, they could also attract users. Professor Wei Jun introduced the risk in government and social governance in the development of the digital economy. Facing the inescapable digital risk, it was necessary to embrace digital transformation actively, take precautions to control digital risks, and secure a dynamic balance between digital risks and digital security. Professor Paul Messinger introduced the states-of-the-art of the contactless economy during the pandemic. The medium for contactless interaction was mainly manifested as information technology. Also, the development of the contactless economy would bring new industries and new business models, and improve the quality of economic development in all respects. Professor Liu Guangyu introduced the collaborative operation and optimal management of a physical-digital system in a distributed solar system through a digital twin system combined with virtual reality. Doctor Attica Kazi stressed how to use big data to monitor, analyze and control the pandemic and reduce infection against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The symposium lifted the reputation of ZUFE and played a significant role in promoting the academic influence of ZUFE in management science.
