ZUFE Holds Thematic Work Conference on Internationalization of Education

Time:March 28, 2024  clicks:

Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) held its 2024 thematic work conference on internationalization of education on March 28. Professor Zheng Yali, Vice President of ZUFE, presided over the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Heads of relevant functional departments and all schools (including research institutes and departments) attended the conference.

Zheng Yali emphasized the crucial role of internationalization in building a world-class finance and economics university. She outlined three key requirements for 2024.

1. Institutionalizing Internationalization: The university must strengthen its institutional framework to promote the systematic, scientific, and standardized development of internationalization efforts. Relevant functional departments should lead overall coordination, integrating more disciplines and majors into international collaborations. Schools should prioritize internationalization, incorporating it into their core agendas.

2. Focusing on "New Finance and Economics Strategy" Development: ZUFE should leverage the key directions outlined in its "New Finance and Economics Strategy" to drive a new era of international exchange. This includes actively constructing international cooperation platforms, fostering faculty and student exchanges, enhancing the university's global influence, and building a strong "Study@ZUFE" brand. Regular sharing of work experiences and achievements is crucial.

3. Prioritizing Security and Risk Management: Internationalization efforts must prioritize development alongside security, with heightened risk awareness and bottom-line thinking. The university should optimize foreign affairs security guidance, incorporate international situations and discipline considerations into pre-departure education for faculty and students traveling abroad, enhancing their safety awareness and emergency response capabilities.

Heads from the International Office and School of International Education and Studies presented on ZUFE's previous achievements in internationalization, analyzed existing challenges, and proposed key work directions for 2024.
