On the evening of November 2, ZUFE held a grand artistic performance to commemorate its 50th anniversary at Xiasha campus. ZUFE’s leadership team, including Li Jinchang, Wei Jiang, Zheng Yali, Sun Xudong, Li Zhanrong, Xu Xiaodong, Dong Jincai, Cheng Shuang, and Shentu Li, were invited to the event. Leaders from counterpart universities, alumni at home and abroad, and guests from all walks of life gathered together to celebrate this event. Over 8,000 people were present to enjoy the performance, with the scene glowing with starlight and filled with laughter. Additionally, 168,973 viewers tuned in simultaneously via the live streaming platform.

The performance, themed “ZUFE, With You and Me, Glorious at Fifty”, was divided into three chapters: “Virtue and Action: Embracing Our Original Aspirations,” “Striving Forward: Standing at the Forefront of the Tide,” and “Respecting Reality and Embracing Innovation: Initiating a New Era.”

Prologue

The opening chapter, “Virtue and Action: Embracing Our Original Aspirations,” kicked off with a song and dance performance titled Waves Rising in Qiantang (潮浪起钱塘) jointly presented by students from Wenhai Lingyun Primary School and ZUFE. The beautiful and energetic dance set the tone for the chapter. Accompanied by the melodious birthday wishes, 13 students who share the same birthday with ZUFE pushed a birthday cake onto the stage in front of the entire university faculty and students, celebrating this meaningful occasion together.

Part I: Virtue and Action: Embracing Our Original Aspirations

As a 1991undergraduate of the inaugural undergraduate class of Auditing from the School of Accounting, Fu Liying, shared her personal experiences and told the story of the ZUFE’s relocation and the birth of its motto.

At the performance site of the song Tong Xing (同行), symphonic music and poetry recitation complemented each other, presenting a magnificent chapter that reflects the ZUFE’s resonance with the times and its synchronized progress with development.

“Fifty years, through morning and night, you and I walk side by side.” The song The Storyteller (写故事的人) narrated in a gentle manner, bringing the touching stories of ZUFE’s faculty and students who cherish their youth and pursue their dreams to life.

The sketch Days in Wenyi Road (与文一路有关的日子), welcomed by a dazzling “sea of stars,” brought the audience back to the early days of the ZUFE’s founding. It vividly recreated the journey of teachers and students working together and striving for progress during the initial establishment of ZUFE.

ZUFE’s Retired Cadres Choir and Yunluo Qiantang Choir performed the song New World, quickly igniting the atmosphere of the venue with its lively rhythm and dynamic melody. 

Part II: Striving Forward: Standing at the Forefront of the Tide

As a member of the first cohort to move into the Xiasha Campus, Wu Shuang, a 2007 undergraduate of the Taxation from the School of Public Finance and Taxation, recounted the significant changes of ZUFE that transitioned from the picturesque “West Lake Era” to the grand “Qiantang River Era”.

The dance drama Kuai Kuai Kuai (respectively stand for Accountant，quickness，and popularity), showcased the progress and innovation of ZUFE’s teaching conditions to the audience with its graceful movements and vivid performances.

Performers from ZUFE, its affiliated middle school, primary school, and kindergarten, representing four different age groups, jointly performed ZUFE: A Bacon of Youthful Spirit (浙财是少年), showcasing the latest achievements in ZUFE’s integrated development of the political education curriculum across all levels, from elementary school to university.

“No matter where we are, we will contribute our youth and strength to the development of our motherland.” 14 schools’ outstanding alumni representatives expressed their deep blessings to their alma mater during the “Report to Our Alma Mater” segment, voicing the strongest call of the new era.

The graduate representatives performed the flash mob song Youth is a Song (青春是首歌), showcasing the youthful spirit and dream-chasing journey of generations of Zufers.

Part Ⅲ: Respecting Reality and Embracing Innovation: Initiating a New Era

Huang Luohe, a Grade 2024 freshman majoring in Business Administration from the School of Business Administration, shared the youthful spirit of “exemplary ZUFE students” under the “Finance and Economics X Digital Intelligence” student cultivation model over the past two months.

Street dance, opera, gymnastics, traditional Chinese music... Student clubs joined forces to present the Chinese-style performance Huaxia (华夏), which elicited rounds of cheers.

ZUFE’s faculty and staff representatives vividly portrayed ZUFE’s development through the song and dance Developing a New ZUFE Together (共创新财经).

The song and dance performance Surging Tides in the New Era (潮涌新时代) was presented from the perspective of ZUFE’s youth, for the blueprint of the “New Finance and Economics Strategy”.

“I, as a Zufer, now take steps anew, dedicating myself to the prosperity of our great era.” The faculty and students on-site jointly recited To the Future (致未来) to showcast the vibrant and enterprising spirit of contemporary Zufers.

The audience joined in singing ZUFE’s anthem Sailing with You (随你去远航), sending heartfelt blessings to their alma mater and the motherland. They released balloons filled with blessings which soared into the sky, carrying beautiful wishes. Five hundred drones took to the air, their lights twinkling and shifting. The iconic campus images such as the Cai Bao IP character, Puhua Theater, and the White Goose converged in the night sky, creating a series of astonishing scenes that thrilled the audience and brought the celebration to its climax.

All performances featured originality, high artistic standards, extensive participation from faculty, students, and alumni, exquisite stage effects, and splendid and inspiring programs. They fully showcased ZUFE’s 50-year development and achievements in education.

Fifty years of relentless striving, where spring blossoms yield bountiful fruits. Fifty years of weathering the storms, with unwavering resolve penning new chapters. Guided by the “New Finance and Economics Strategy”, ZUFE will uphold the university motto “Pursuing virtue and academic excellence, and keeping pace with the times,” remain true to its original aspiration and mission of “cultivating talent for the Party and the Country,” bear in mind the country’s most fundamental interests, and strive to build a first-class university of finance and economics with distinctive features. ZUFE will be a pioneer and write a new chapter in the progress of Chinese modernization in Zhejiang, contributing more strengths to build a greater country and national rejuvenation..
