On the evening of April 18, the 2025 “"Dream Trip in Zhejiang"” Series for International Students in Zhejiang Province, consisting of the Chinese Talent Show and the Award Ceremony of the Chinese Singing Contest for International Students, was held at the West Gymnasium of Zhejiang University of Finance Economics (ZUFE). The event was jointly organized by the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and Zhejiang Radio and Television Group, and co-organized by ZUFE and the Zhejiang TV Science, Education and Film Channel.
Among the distinguished guests attending the event were Liu Limin, President of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE); An Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE; Shu Peidong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province; Luo Lili, Spokesperson for the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee; Xu Dongliang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Zhejiang Radio and Television Group; Zhou Jianghong, Vice President of Zhejiang University; Wei Jiang, President of ZUFE; and Zheng Yali, Vice President of ZUFE, as well as other invited guests. They awarded trophies to the winners of the first, second, and third prizes of the singing competition.
More than 500 international students from 18 universities, including Zhejiang University, participated in 16 performances. Students from countries such as Russia, Italy, Bangladesh, and Türkiye showcased their experiences of studying in China through songs, dances, and short drama sketches. From their unique perspectives, they brought iconic Chinese cultural figures such as Nezha and Hua Mulan to life on stage. The appearance of robots and robotic dogs performing alongside international students captivated the audience and drew bursts of warm applause from the crowd throughout the evening.
This is the first time ZUFE has hosted the “Dream Trip in Zhejiang” series of activities. Under the theme “Dreaming in Zhejiang, Singing for the Future”, the event consisted of the Chinese for International Students, the 18th Zhejiang Province International Students Chinese Talent Show, and field trips to national Study-in-China bases. It aimed to help international students gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, witness and experience Zhejiang’s development achievements, and promote cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. The “"Dream Trip in Zhejiang"” Series for International Students in Zhejiang Province is an annual cultural carnival designed for international students across the province. Since its launch, the program has attracted the participation of more than 10,000 international students from over 170 countries and regions and more than 50 universities throughout Zhejiang Province. It has become a golden card of international student cultural activities and international cultural communication in Zhejiang Province.
