Founded in October 1995, the Division of Physical Education (DPE) of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE), the formerly Physical Education Office of the Basic Course Division, has a division office and 6 centers, namely, Physical Education Center, Athletic Training and Competition Center, Mass Sports Center, Physical Fitness Testing Center, Gymnasium Management Center, and Social Service Center (ZUFE Adolescents Sports Club).

DPE holds a staff of 41 faculty members, including 34 full-time teachers of whom there is 1 professor, 13 associate professors, 2 with doctoral degree and 31 with master's degree. 6 teachers in the Division have been intalentcultivation programs at university level and above. College Sports won Provincial Level Quality Course; Swimming and Fitness Dance were awarded in the first batch of Sports Characteristic Projects in provincial colleges and universities; and Swimming Fitness as well as Chinese Kicking Boxing were listed as Quality Online Open Course of Provincial Level.

DPE has three high-level sports teams, namely, Swimming Team, Table Tennis Team and Football Team and 14 regular sports teams of undergraduate students. In the past five years, it has won 302 national sports competition awards and 521 provincial sports competition awards. Ranking No. 1 in Zhejiang Province, DPE won the first President’s Cup which represents the highest honor in the 2017 National Student Sports Games. DPE prioritizes sports culture building on campus. DPE holds more than 20 campus sports activities every year, such as track and field events and the "Heroes of Qiangtang River" 10,000-meterlong distance running. The diversified activities appeal to all students and teachers of the university.

DPE advances international sports exchange and exchanges with the swimming team of Sydney University in Australia, the basketball and swimming teams of Laurentian University in Canada, and the national table tennis team of Indonesia. The Division hasreached a cooperationintention for sports (swimming) exchange with Mira Costa College (MCC) in the United States and has sent 13 teachers to the United States and New Zealand as visiting scholars.
