Recently, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics(ZUFE) held a video conference with Deakin University in Australia to discuss cooperation between the two universities. Vice president Zhanrong Li and Wei Shen, vice president of Deakin University, attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the heads of the international cooperation departments of both universities also attended the meeting.
Mr. Li introduced the recent situation of the development of the university in terms of personnel training, scientific research, and international cooperation. He said Deakin University is one of the well-known universities in Australia, and also a world leader in sports science, law, information technology, artificial intelligence, and other fields. He hoped that the two universities could strengthen cooperation in statistics, artificial intelligence, law, business and so on, and carry out joint training of talents and cooperative schooling.
Mr. Shen introduced the history of Deakin University, and its competitive disciplines and international cooperation. He hoped that the two sides could carry out cooperation in the fields of joint training, academic research and cooperative programs to build a long-term friendly relationship.
At the meeting, the head of ZUFE International Division expounded the cooperation program of ZUFE's Sino- foreign cooperative institutions from the aspects of cooperation mode, majors, and objectives of talent training.
Deakin University, founded in 1974, is located in Melbourne, Australia, with more than 60, 000 students and over 2, 000 faculty members. In addition, it is ranked 231st in the list of the world's comprehensive universities and colleges (soft science). Among its disciplines, Law is ranked 54th in the world (QS), and Computer Science 78th (soft science).
