On October 29, Professor Pamela Maseko, Dean of the College of Humanities of North-West University (NWU), and her delegation visited ZUFE. Vice President Zhanrong Li met with the guests.
Mr. Li expressed his warm welcome to the guests. He said that South Africa is an indispensable member of the BRICS countries, and ZUFE attaches great importance to its cooperation with NWU. In July this year, a delegation of ZUFE visited NWU. The two sides carried out in-depth consultations on the joint building of the Confucius Institute and signed a memorandum of understanding, which unveiled the direction for future cooperation between the two universities. Mr. Li hoped that both sides would continue to work together for substantive cooperation in the building of the Confucius Institute, scientific research cooperation, and teacher exchanges to promote exchanges between China and South Africa both in education and culture.
ProfessorMasekoexpressed her gratitude to ZUFE for the warm reception and her desire to jointly build the Confucius Institute and conduct teacher exchanges with ZUFE. She said that NWU will actively seek support from the local government to start the application for the Confucius Institute as soon as possible.
The heads of the School of Humanities, School of International Education & Studies, the International Office, the Asset Department, the School Union, and the School History Museum of ZUFE attended the meeting.
