Recently, the Sixth World Internet Conference, featuring the theme of "Intelligent Interconnection for Openness and Cooperation—Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," was held in Wuzhen, China. Xuqiang Wang, a teacher of School of Public Finance and Taxation of ZUFE, was invited to attend the branch venue -- Unicorn Summit and Platform Economy Forum and give a keynote speech.
Mr. Wang gave a keynote speech titled "Interpretation of New Policies of the New Finance and Taxation and Platform Economy." He believed that with the rapid development of the global Internet economy, government should include the freelancers participating in the Internet economy into the scope of individual income tax (IIT) when formulating tax policies, and adopt pertinent tax policies conducive to industries. By doing so, the taxpayers' information will be effectively integrated, the collection and management of IIT will be further strengthened, and a solid foundation for the IIT system will be bettered.
Mr. Wang also expounded the current institutional protection provided by China's fiscal policies to the prospects of the internet and the promotion of the platform economy, putting forward the proposal of how to levy and manage taxes in a new situation.
