On June 17, Dr. Kairat Kelimbetov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), and his delegation visited ZUFE. Jinchang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, met with the visitors cordially. Heads of the School of Finance, the School of International Education & Studies, the Institute of Financial Studies, and the International Division attended the meeting.

Mr. Li welcomed Kairat and his delegation to visit again, and introduced to the guests the achievements of the Kazakhstan Economic and Social Research Center at ZUFE since its establishment and the study situation of Kazakh students. He hoped that the two sides will actively innovate the way of cooperation in the context of The Belt and Road Initiative, and strive to make new and greater contributions in economic research, talent training, and cooperative scientific research.

Dr. Kairat Kelimbetov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of the university and expressed his appreciation for the fact that ZUFE has trained a lot of excellent talents for Kazakhstan. He said that the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China, the warm and sincere treatment between the two countries, and the frequent meetings between the top leaders of the two countries have pointed out the direction of development for the cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. He hoped that both sides will cooperate in economic and financial research in the future, focus on hot issues of economic development in Kazakhstan and China, and strive to broaden the scope of research.

During the visit, Dr. Kairat Kelimbetov and his delegation also visited the representatives of international students from Kazakhstan, and held consultations with the heads of relevant functional departments and schools on cooperation matters.
