Recently, Vice President Mr. Wang was invited to lead a delegation to visit the University of Debrecen in Hungary and Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria, exchanging opinions with relevant persons in charge of such matters as joint cultivation of students, mutual visits of teachers, and scientific research cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation was warmly received by Akos Pinter, vice president of University of Debrecen in Hungary. Mr. Akos Pinter elaborated the university's history, the set-up of major curricula, the training of students and teachers, and other basic conditions. Also, Mr. Wang introduced the educational philosophy, subject characteristics, enrollment and employment, and international cooperation of ZUFE. The two sides held discussions on student and faculty exchange, educational training, scientific research, and cooperation. At last, they signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. The delegation also visited the campus and its library, accompanied by Mr. Pinter, and listened to the introduction of its characteristic book collections as well as book lending management system from the librarian.
Then, at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Helmut Pernsteiner, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, and Mitter Maier, Director of the International Cooperation Office, enthusiastically welcomed the delegation. They had extensive conversations from student exchange programs to the joint undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Mr. Wang focused on Economics, Management, Statistics, and other characteristic disciplines of ZUFE. Meanwhile, the two sides conducted in-depth and detailed exchanges and discussions on student exchange, teacher visits, academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation, MBA programs, regional economic research, and other projects. At last, they reached a consensus on cooperation.
During the whole visit at two universities, the delegation was deeply impressed by their open education philosophies, strong academic atmosphere, and beautiful campus environment. Through the visit, ZUFE has enhanced the understanding of higher education both in China and Europe, clarified the specific needs of the counterpart universities in international cooperation and communication, and opened up new channels for ZUFE students to Austria and Hungary for further studies, which was of great significance to further expand the exchanges and cooperation between ZUFE and Sino-European universities and promote the internationalization of education.
