On the afternoon of November 3, President Xiaomin Zhong of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) met with Robert Allison, President of Loughborough University, Richard Taylor, Vice President of Loughborough University, Charlie Carter and Paul Wishart, Directors of International Department in Shanghai. ZUFE Vice President Jianxin Huang and the heads of the International Office and the School of International Education & Studies attended the meeting.
Mr. Zhong welcomed Allison and his delegation, and introduced ZUFE's history, talent training, and majors, especially the development of the university's education internationalization strategy and Sino-foreign cooperative programs. He said that the '4+1' master's program between the two universities is progressing smoothly, and hoped that the two sides would carry out in-depth cooperation on Sino-foreign cooperation programs, joint training of teachers, scientific research, etc., to enrich the content and expand the scope of cooperation, so as to create a mutually beneficial and win-win situation.
Mr. Allison said that Loughborough University attaches great importance to the development of cooperative relations with ZUFE and is willing to provide strong support to further implement the achievements of educational cooperation between the two universities. He hoped that both sides will continue to optimize the cooperation mode and innovate the cooperation mechanism, so as to push the friendly cooperation relationship between the two universities to a new height.
Subsequently, the two sides had a lively discussion on the training programs, curriculum, teaching methods, and teachers' exchange of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, and expressed that they would focus on promoting cooperative education for the master's programs in mathematics, big data management, and economics by complementing each other's advantages.
