16th Reading Festival-Thematic Evening Party and Commendation Conference Held at ZUFE

On May 11, ZUFE's 16th (2021) Reading Festival theme party and commendation conference were held at the Xiasha campus. More than 600 people were present at the party, including Jiansen Yu, deputy secretary of the school party committee, Danqun Lou, member of the party committee and director of the Publicity Department, Mr. Gonggan Zhou, donor from the "Zhou Songdi Reading Award" foundation and the "Most Beautiful Alumnus" of ZUFE, together with persons in charge of relevant functional departments and from all Schools, as well as representatives of teachers and students.

Mr. Yu showed the importance of reading in his speech, encouraging students to read more, to seek out good books to broaden their horizons and open their minds through reading, and to develop a correct outlook on the world, life and values, and he also hoped that students would strive to be advocates for a habit of reading fostered among our people, to be leaders of the national reading fashion, and to be promoters of creating a reading atmosphere nationwide, so as to make due contributions to the building of a reading-oriented society and even a China with the fragrance of reading.

Themes of this evening party in 2021 Reading Festival were the "Century-Old Elegance" and the "Widely Collected Beautiful Chapters." The shows were brilliant, rich in content and diverse in form. Different art forms, such as the dance To the Tune of Chin Yuan Chun, the song The Moon of Gloom, and the recitation Sun Chant, all showed the beauty of reading, displaying the achievements of ZUFE in art education over these years. The show "Inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibiting Youthful Beauty" reviewed the past wonderful moments of the team about nonphysical treasures via the video. In "Speaking Decent Words Together" based on the Flying Flower Order, a kind of wordplay game for ancient Chinese literati, the students won outbursts of applause from the audience with their proficient mastery of ancient poems and outstanding performances.

During this period, participating leaders and guests presented awards to winners of "Songdi Reading," winners of a series of activities in the Reading Festival, and outstanding readers of 2020.

Through conducting a variety of reading activities, the 2021 Reading Festival guides students to love to read, read good books, and excel in reading, achieving significant results in creating a colorful and diverse reading-loving cultural atmosphere and building a reading-centered campus.
