The 2021 Zhejiang Province “Zhongsheng Cup” Badminton Competition and the Provincial College “President Cup” Badminton Competition, sponsored by the Provincial Education Trade Union and Provincial “Zhongsheng Cup” Sports Association, was held at ZUFE Dongfang College. In his speech, Professor Li Jinchang briefly introduced ZUFE. He pointed out that ZUFE, as one of the chairing members of the Badminton Sub-Association of the “Zhongsheng Cup” Sports Association of the Provincial Education Trade Union, has turned the annual badminton tournament into a traditional landmark event of the provincial education system with its unremitting efforts over the past ten years, and has played an important and positive role in promoting the development of badminton among provincial universities. He hoped that all the participating athletes would fully carry forward the spirit of sports, work hard and strive for first place, and take the competition as an opportunity to gather positive energy for sports and drive the development of Zhejiang as a leading sports province.
The competition featured a mixed team competition and a “President Cup” double competition. A total of 497 faculty members from 31 college and university teams in Zhejiang Province participated in the mixed team competition and 20 leaders from 11 colleges and universities participated in the doubles competition. On the field, the participants worked together in unity and showed their high spirit, strong physiques, and strong cohesion.
After fierce competition, the team from Zhejiang University won first place in the mixed team competition, and Zheng Ning of Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology and Lu Jianwei of Lishui College won first place in the “President Cup” doubles. Xu Xiaodong, Vice President of ZUFE and Xu Li, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Education Trade Union, presented the awards to the winning teams respectively.
In the educational system of Zhejiang Province, this competition is among such sports events that boast the largest scale, the most participating teams, and the highest level in terms of sports skills. The competition has built a platform for creating a healthy lifestyle, and promoted the concept of “national fitness and happy work,” thereby enhancing communication and exchange among colleges and universities in the province, and improving the happiness and sense of achievement of faculty members.
