Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the 2021 list of first-class undergraduate majors both on a national and provincial level. As for ZUFE, there are seven undergraduate majors approved as the national first-class ones and four as the provincial ones. Up to now, we have 20 national first-class undergraduate majors as well as 29 provincial and above ones, accounting for 64% of all enrollment majors.

These years, in order to foster financial talent in the "Four New Disciplines", we have carried out the comprehensive reform of the construction of undergraduate majors in an all-around way and strengthened the two-way integration of subjects and majors. To meet the needs of the local economy and social development, we have set up Wenhua College and built a batch of new interdisciplinary majors with new financial characteristics across colleges. These measures put emphasis on integrative courses, explore new ways of education, take the initiative in teaching reform, and effectively consolidate the foundation of majors in terms of courses, textbooks, teaching and curriculum reform projects, and so on.

The "Double Ten-Thousand Talent Programs" for the construction of first-class undergraduate majors (ten thousand at the national level and ten thousand at the provincial level) is an important part of the "Six-Excellences and One-Top" Program 2.0 (namely, the Talent Training Program 2.0: "Six-Excellences" refers to educating the outstanding engineers, doctors, teachers, agricultural, legal and news communication talent; and "One-Top" refers to cultivating the top students in basic subjects) launched by the Ministry of Education. It is an important step to promote the "Four New Constructions" (Construction of New Engineering, New Medicine, New Agriculture, and New Liberal Arts), make first-class undergraduates stronger, and cultivate high-caliber talent. Next, we will further optimize and coordinate the construction of majors, vigorously promote the engineering majors and international business certification, focus on the construction of "new liberal arts" and "new engineering", create professional digital evaluation indicators, and propel the precision and characteristic development of the majors in different levels and stages. We will accelerate the formation of the undergraduate major system with ZUFE characteristics, which is comprised of the leading disciplines and first-class majors, and finally promote the high-quality connotative development of talent training.
