On July 31, the 2nd National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers successfully ended in Xi’an. The "Advanced Mathematics" course team led by Meng Zehong from the School of Data Sciences won the second prize, which was a breakthrough for our university in this contest.

With the theme of "Promoting Teaching Innovation and Cultivating First-Class Talent", the 2nd National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers was officially launched on October 29, 2021. A total of 18,407 teachers from 1,195 colleges and universities in 31 regions participated in the provincial competition, covering 13 disciplines. 1,462 teachers from 267 colleges and universities participated in the national competition, and 205 were finally shortlisted for an on-site evaluation. The biggest draw of this competition is to highlight the five key features: teaching innovation, student-centered learning, curriculum ideology and politics, discipline characteristics, as well as technology application, all of which closely focus on teaching innovation, shape teachers into "Mr. Big", promote the reform of teaching evaluation, and cultivate first-class talent.

We will take this competition as an opportunity to promote teaching and reform, guiding teachers to dedicate themselves to education. Also, we will train our teachers with excellent political quality and professional teaching ability, encourage the faculty members to devote themselves to the reform and innovation of teaching, explore new ways of college education, and improve the level of personnel training.
