On August 28, the registration day for 2022 freshmen, 4,242 undergraduates from all over China gathered in ZUFE, where they will embark on a new journey and turn over a new leaf in their lives.
A group of leaders of ZUFE, including Li Jinchang, Secretary of the ZUFE Party Committee, Zhong Xiaomin, Deputy Secretary of the ZUFE Party Committee and President of ZUFE, Yu Jiansen, Deputy Secretary of the ZUFE Party Committee and Xu Xiaodong, a member of the ZUFE Party Committee and Vice-president of ZUFE, came to welcome and talk with the freshmen and extended warm care to the staff.
The freshmen couldn't enter the campus accompanied by their parents due to the pandemic prevention rules. With the help of volunteers and security officers, they came to the registration site of different schools for materials after showing their health codes, taking their temperature, and getting disinfected. The whole process was well-organized and in perfect order.
This year, student registration was done in the freshmen registration management system named "iRegister". They logged in to the system via E-Class, filled in the "Admission Form" with detailed personal information, and submitted it to the school counselor for a check. On the registration day, they got the registration code when having their Hangzhou health code and nucleic acid test report checked. The registration was completed when their registration code was scanned by the volunteers.
"On the first day of my 18th year, I became a freshman at ZUFE, embracing the new start of my life. Thanks to this coincidence, I will cherish the following four years to be spent here all the more," said Liu Ziyu, a freshman whose 18th birthday happens to be the day of registration. "I hope to enrich myself, make more friends and learn from more teachers here. And I will be firmly committed to the school motto of 'pursuing virtue and academic excellence, and keeping pace with the times' to forge ahead."
When asked why he chose ZUFE, Lu Yuxuan, a freshman here, answered like a shot, "I was drawn to the environment and cultural atmosphere here. I can't wait to see the white geese, Xueya Lake, and Baqu Bridge and explore the unknown."
The warmth from every corner and every detail constitute the cultural characteristics of ZUFE. All the freshmen will turn over a new leaf and compose their new chapter with dreams and great achievements here.
