ZUFE Women’s Volleyball Team reached the pinnacle of success in their debut.
On the afternoon of May 26, the 2022-2023 China University Volleyball League (Undergraduate Division) concluded in Xiamen, Fujian province. ZUFE women's volleyball team secured the championship title with an impressive 3-0 victory over Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
During the group stage from May 18 to May 23, ZUFE women's volleyball team achieved victories in succession, defeating Nanjing University (3-0), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (3-1), Wuhan University (3-0), Xidian University (3-0), and Guangzhou Medical University (3-0), securing the top position in the group and advancing to the knockout stage.
After six days of physically and mentally demanding group stage matches, the players, following a period of rest and adjustment, faced Southwest University of Political Science and Law in the quarterfinals on May 24th. They dominated with three consecutive sets and advanced to the semifinals.
On May 25, our team competed with Nanjing Forestry University. Led by the captain, our players fought together with determination, winning three sets and securing the ticket to the finals!
On May 26, in the final match against Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Vice President Dong Jincai of ZUFE paid a special visit to the venue to provide encouragement and support. Our women's volleyball team displayed tenacity and teamwork in the intense competition. They persevered through challenges and emerged victorious with an absolute dominance of 3-0 over their opponents, clinching the national championship!
The players of the women's volleyball team fully embody the spirited demeanor of ZUFE students. They also showcase the spirit of contemporary youth, daring to dream, courageously pursuing those dreams, and diligently working towards achieving them. This historic achievement marks their debut on the national stage and establishes them as pioneers among ZUFE’s three major ball sports. Let us continue to forge ahead together.
