On April 17, the signing ceremony of the collaboration memorandum between ZUFE and the National University of Malaysia was held at Xiasha Campus. Zhong Xiaomin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of ZUFE, and Mohamad Ikhwan Triman, president of the National University of Malaysia, signed the memorandum on behalf of the two universities. Vice President Li Zhanrong and heads of the International Department and School of Data Sciences attended the ceremony.

Zhong Xiaomin welcomed the guests and introduced the overall situation of ZUFE and the cooperation on education with countries along the Belt and Road. He expressed the hope of becoming practitioners of China-Malaysia education cooperation in joint efforts by taking this signing as an opportunity. With a relatively complete talent training system in the field of data science, the National University of Malaysia hoped that the two universities could carry out joint postgraduate education projects.

Mohamad Ikhwan Triman said that the signing of the memorandum was the beginning of a sound cooperation between the two universities, and he looked forward to future connections in the fields like student exchanges, graduate cultivation and joint scientific research.
The delegation also visited the School of Data Science and the Library of Nobel Prize Collections in Economics as well as the Library of Sun Yefang Economics Science Prize. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the talent training program, curriculum setting and teaching resources of the proposed project.
The National University of Malaysia, founded in 1970, is a public university organized by the Malaysian government, with 13 colleges and 12 research centers, and more than 23,000 students. It ranks 129th in the QS World University Rankings and is a member of the ASEAN University Network and the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific.
