On December 18, a delegation from Almaty City, Kazakhstan, visited the ZUFE accompanied by Zhu Guojian, Chairman of Zhejiang Weite Elevator Co., Ltd., and Dong Gang, President of Suzhou Mapscene Information Technology Co., Ltd., Vice President Zheng Yali met with the visiting guests.

Zheng Yali extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the university's historical background, talent cultivation, academic development, international cooperation, and social services. She noted that Almaty, as the hub of Kazakhstan for economics, finance, and cultural-educational activities, ZUFE looks forward to engaging in two-way exchanges with the city in terms of mutual visits, talent cultivation, and international Chinese language education. She expressed her hopes that ZUFE can fully leverage its distinctive advantages in China-Kazakhstan educational cooperation, foster deeper collaboration with local and Chinese-funded enterprises, and nurture more high-caliber talents for China-Kazakhstan economic and trade cooperation and the "Belt and Road Initiative".

Bekbolat Bididayev, member of the Kazakhstan Senate and former mayor of Medeu District, Almaty, introduced the basic situation of Almaty and Medeo. He stated that Kazakhstan and China are friendly neighbors and he supports educational cooperation between the universities of the two countries, encouraging more young people from Kazakhstan to come to China to learn the Chinese language and culture.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Institute for Central Asia Studies.
