ZUFE held a promotion conference on the quality certification of international students on June 5. Wei Jiang, vice president (leading executive work) of ZUFE’s and deputy secretary of its Party Committee, attended and delivered a speech. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Zheng Yali. Representatives from relevant functional departments, heads of secondary colleges, teaching secretaries and postgraduate secretaries from units that cultivate international students attended the meeting.
Wei Jiang pointed out that amid the profound changes unseen in a century, it is essential to leverage the university’s disciplinary strengths, regional advantages, and environmental strengths to demonstrate the commitment of ZUFE and fulfill its internationalization mission and responsibilities. Taking accreditation as an opportunity, we should comprehensively optimize the structure of education for international students in China and elevate the quality and standards of such programs.
Wei Jiang emphasized that we should integrate the “New Finance and Economics Strategy” to coordinate the advancement of international students education in China and internationalization of cultivation system. We should fully leverage ZUFE’s new disciplinary system and cultivation system to comprehensively guide the cultivation of international students, expedite the formulation of the “four strategic blueprints”, refine internationalized institutional mechanisms, and establish innovative internationalized training models. Through Zufer’s cooperation and seamless coordination, we should systematically review our foundation, prioritize the strengths of key schools, highlight distinctive features, and achieve breakthroughs to significantly enhance the quality accreditation of international student education and the overall level of education internationalization.
Zheng Yali stated that we should accurately understand the spirit of this meeting, profoundly recognize the significance and mission of international student education in China and education internationalization at the present stage, work together, and make full efforts to do a good job in the next stage of ZUFE’s self-evaluation, self-improvement, and preparation for evaluation and promotion.
At the meeting, the head of the School of International Education reported on the progress of the quality certification work for international students in China, and the participants had an exchange of ideas.
