On December 17, a novel cultural exchange activity captured the attention of a large number of students and faculty in Wenhua Academy. Li Jinchang, secretary of ZUFE’s Party Committee and Zheng Yali, vice president of ZUFE engaged international students in the art of Chinese calligraphy by writing the character “廉” (lian, meaning integrity and honesty) and lotus painting, offering them an immersive experience in China’s integrity culture.
Li Jinchang emphasized that integrity is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation as well as a common value in modern society. Through such cultural exchange activities, international students can gain a deeper understanding of Chinese values and a richer appreciation of traditional Chinese culture.
At the event, Secretary Li personally demonstrated Chinese calligraphy by writing the character “廉” with bold and expressive brushstrokes. He explained to the international students that “廉” symbolizes integrity and uprightness—one of the most cherished virtues in Chinese culture.
Under Secretary Li’s guidance, international students carefully painted lotus with brushes. Though each painting had a unique style, all conveyed the respect and yearning for integrity culture.
Anna, a student from Russia, expressed that such events are highly meaningful, deepening her understanding of Chinese integrity culture. She stated, “Through calligraphy and painting, I felt the charm of traditional Chinese culture and gained a more intuitive understanding of the profound meaning behind the character “廉(Lian)”.
Zheng Yali emphasized that ZUFE will continue to deepen cultural exchange activities, enabling more international students to understand China and enhance cross-cultural communication and mutual understanding.
This cultural exchange not only allowed international students to experience traditional Chinese art but also provided them with profound insights into the essence of Chinese integrity culture, building a bridge for promoting cultural exchanges and fostering international friendship.
