Shanghai Ranking, an independent higher education ranking agency, has released its 2025 edition of the Shanghai Ranking of Chinese University Majors, covering 836 majors across 93 discipline categories and 12 fields of study. All 45 majors currently enrolling at ZUFE made the list. Among them, 44 are rated Grade B or above, and the International Taxation major is listed as a distinctive program, with multiple majors achieving continuous ranking improvements. A total of 39 majors, accounting for 87% of ZUFE’s offerings, are rated Grade B+ or above, ranking among the top 30% nationwide. Fifteen Grade A majors, over one-third of ZUFE’s total, rank within the top 10% nationally. Five majors—Applied Statistics, Auditing, Financial Management, Business English and International Economics and Trade-rank among the top 5% nationally. Specifically, Applied Statistics ranks 8th among 220 institutions offering the program, while Auditing ranks 9th among 232 institutions.
As a university designated under Zhejiang Province’s Development of a High-level University initiative, ZUFE takes Economics and Management as its core disciplines, with its major coverage spanning Economics, Management, Literature, Law, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Fine Arts. To date, 20 majors have been designated as National First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites, and 9 majors as Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Program Construction Sites. Aligning with national strategic needs and socioeconomic development demands, ZUFE advances the reform of “New Liberal Arts plus Emerging Engineering Education” centering on its distinctive and competitive disciplines. It promotes program transformation through digital empowerment, and actively integrates information technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data into academic majors. ZUFE is advancing the construction of a new talent cultivation system featuring “Three Integrations” based on its “Two Multiplies and One Addition” approach. Furthermore, it optimizes its major structure in accordance with social needs and program evaluation results, advances the connotative building of its programs through the innovative three-in-one mechanism of program directors, class advisors and counselors, and promotes the high-quality development of all majors.
