Recently, the 3rd Far East Choral Olympics, organized by the Russian Presidential Cultural Initiatives Fund, the All-Russia Choral Society, and the Ministry of Culture and Archives of the Primorsky Krai, and hosted by Far Eastern Federal University, concluded in Vladivostok, Russia. After intense competition, our university’s College Student Art Troupe, the Yunluo Qiantang Choir, ranked first in the mixed choir category and was awarded the gold medal.

The Far East Choral Olympics is the largest choral contest in Russia, renowned for its high standards and strong competitiveness. This year’s competition featured more than 3,000 participants from 104 choirs representing 16 countries and regions, both online and offline.

During the competition, the Yunluo Qiantang Choir passionately performed the Chinese folk piece Qinchuan Ballad and the eight-part original composition Dream Montage, created by the choir’s instructor Li Jiayu. Thanks to their outstanding artistic expression and solid choral skills, the choir won the category championship once again at a global competition, following their success at the Hong Kong International Choir Festival.

The university has long been committed to building a comprehensive public arts education system, integrating aesthetic education throughout the talent cultivation process, and continuously strengthening the role of arts education in shaping campus culture and fostering humanistic spirit. This provides a solid platform for students’ overall development and personal growth. Going forward, the University Youth League Committee (Aesthetic Education Department) will continue to implement the Campus Culture and Arts Enhancement Plan, promote development through competitions and pursue authenticity through art, actively encouraging the creation and performance of original campus cultural works, and ensuring that the concepts of aesthetic education take root in practical talent cultivation.
