On March 26, a delegation from the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), including Ma Yansheng, Director of the Expert Steering Committee for the “Youth Global Competence Development Program”, and Zhou Yan, former Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, visited Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE). Dong Jincai, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of ZUFE, warmly received the guests.

Dong Jincai welcomed the delegation and introduced the university’s development overview as well as the progress and achievements of its internationalization efforts in recent years. He highlighted that ZUFE is actively advancing the “"New Finance and Economics Strategy"” and accelerating the construction of the “One Student, One Plan” new training system. The “Youth Global Competence Development Program” focuses on four training objectives: patriotism, international understanding, cross-cultural communication, and advanced interdisciplinary competence. It is both an innovative initiative in “Internationalization at Home” curriculum development and an effective supplement to the “One Student, One Plan” system, helping the university build an international talent cultivation system and enhance students’ global vision and global competence.

Ma Yansheng introduced the background and significance of the “Youth Global Competence Development Program”, expressing the hope that, through the program, universities could cultivate interdisciplinary talents with solid professional competence and international communication skills. Zhou Yan provided guidance on cultivating students’ global competence and building a talent pool for global governance.

Yu Jingbo, Executive Director of the “Youth Global Competence Development Program” Office, and Li Jia, Deputy Director, introduced the overall situation, implementation mechanism, and outcomes of the program. The participants engaged in discussions on cultivating talents for international organizations, optimizing the curriculum system, expanding international internship and practice platforms, and advancing international student education in China.

Relevant heads from the International Office, School of International Education and Studies, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, and various schools attended the symposium.
