On May 15, Shentu Li, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, met with Kutbidden Ubaydullaev, Deputy Consul General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai, who paid a visit to the university.

Shentu Li introduced the university’s the university’s history and development, international exchange and cooperation, as well as Area Studies, and reviewed the achievements made in recent years with Uzbekistan universities in faculty exchanges, talent training and other aspects. She stated that the university should leverage the strengths of its economics and finance disciplines to actively assist private enterprises in expanding overseas, thereby making greater contributions to advancing economic, trade, and cultural cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. It is hoped that relying on the exchange platform of the Consulate General, extensive cooperation with Uzbekistan universities in Area Studies, student education and cultural exchanges will be further deepened.

Ubaydullaev introduced the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Zhejiang in trade, investment, education and culture. He expressed willingness to build a bilateral exchange platform and promote cooperation between Chinese and Uzbekistan universities in joint research, teacher training and student exchange. During the visit, Ubaydullaev visited the Institute for Central Asia Studies, ZUFE of ZUFE and exchanged views with heads of relevant departments on cooperation in Area Studies. He also held a discussion with Uzbekistani international students studying at ZUFE to learn about their study and life.
