The First International Conference on Economic Statistical Measurement and National Accounting Held at ZUFE

From December 8 to 10, the First International Conference on Economic Statistical Measurement and National Accounting was held at ZUFE (Xiasha campus). More than 30 experts and scholars from the International Labor Organization, European Statistics Agency (Eurostat), Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University and other organizations gathered at ZUFE to conduct exchanges and discussions on the frontier theory and major practical issues such as economic statistical measurement and national accounting. Jinchang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, had a cordial meeting with experts and scholars.

In his speech, Jianxin Huang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUFE, briefly introduced the development of the university and related academic disciplines. Meanwhile, Mr. Huang said that the university would take the conference as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with peer universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, further promote the development of ZUFE Statistics discipline, and continuously improve social service and collaborative innovation capabilities.

Rui Hou, Deputy Director of the Institute of Statistical Science of Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, said in his speech that the experts invited to this conference came from different international organizations, government departments and universities, and conducted in-depth explorations on the two major topics of national accounting and economic statistics measurement. At the same time, Mr. Hou said that this conference would promote the cooperation and exchanges between experts and scholars from various countries as well as further development of China's economic statistics.

Six keynote speeches were delivered during the conference. At the conference, many experts and scholars from China, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Italy, Australia and other countries discussed in depth the relevant research results in the field of economic statistics.

This conference built a good academic exchange platform for the participants and provided a broader vision as well as valuable experience for the development of ZUFE Statistics discipline.
