China Energy Sector Reform and Government Regulation Forum 2019 Held in Beijing

On November 11, China Energy Sector Reform and Government Regulation Forum 2019 themed "Strengthening Energy Sector Regulation and Promoting the Modernization of National Governance System and Capacity" was held in Beijing. More than 100 experts and scholars from the government, business associations, universities and research institutions gathered to have in-depth discussions and exchanges on major theoretical and practical issues of the current energy sector reform and government regulation.

Professor Junhao Wang, a provincial-level senior expert and dean of ICGR, ZUFE, presided over the opening ceremony and reported the main work and achievements of the Energy Regulatory Professional Committee in recent years to the attending experts and scholars.

Yin Wu, the Vice Chairman of the China Energy Research Society and Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, Guohong Zhao, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Market Regulation of the National Energy Administration, Emma Smith, the Second Secretary of the Energy Division of the British Embassy in China, and Researcher Dan Shi, the Head of the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences delivered respectively keynote speeches titled "Reflections on Energy Governance System and Modernization of Energy Governance", "The Current Situation and Prospects of Energy Regulation in China", "Reform of the UK Energy Industry", and "The Coordination of Interests in the Reform of the Electricity Market".

The forum was sponsored by the Energy Regulatory Professional Committee of China Energy Research Society, the Industrial Regulatory Professional Committee of China Industrial Economy Society, and the Urban Utilities Reform and Regulatory Professional Committee of China Urban Science Association and organized by ICGR, ZUFE, Institute of China Governmental Regulation and Public Policy, and Center for Collaborative Innovation of Urban Utilities Governmental Regulation of ZUFE, and Institute of Modern Governmental Regulation of Zhejiang Province.
