First International Forum for Young Scholars (IFYS) Hosted by ZUFE

Recently, ZUFE held the first IFYS, in which more than 60 outstanding young scholars from both domestic and foreign prestigious universities participated. Party Secretary Jinchang Li, Vice President Yongyou Li and heads of relevant departments and schools attended the opening ceremony. And the opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Rumeng Li.

On behalf of the university, Jinchang Li welcomed the young talents and made a brief introduction to ZUFE. He pointed out that the university has always adhered to the concept that talents are the first element and the first resource. Teachers and students have continued to reach consensus and vigorously promoted the development strategy of "revitalizing ZUFE through talents", to pool wisdom in this university with an insightful vision into talents, sincere care for talents, the courage to use talents, the generosity to recruit talents and useful approaches to attract talents. He hoped that a vast number of young talents can come to ZUFE to realize their dreams and looked forward to working hand in hand with them to create a better future!

At the opening ceremony, Professor Leibao Zhang, Director of the Discipline Development Office, Professor Tong Jin, Director of the Scientific Research Division, and Professor Haijun Bao, Director of the Personnel Office respectively introduced the university’s disciplinary platform, research system, and personnel policies. In the main forum, Professor Yongyou Li, the "special-term" professor of Changjiang Scholars (Program), Dr. Yi Peng, the "special-term Qianjiang Professors Program" of Zhejiang province, Dr. Shravan Luckraz, a foreign expert to join ZUFE, and Dr. Kunbo Shi, the representative of young scholars from Ghent University in Belgium, all made their special reports.

There are 14 sub-forums in this Forum, and school leaders, discipline authorities and scholars present fully discussed their research innovations and joint pursuit of the development. Besides, they also invited some scholars to give special academic reports.

IFYS aims at providing a platform for young outstanding scholars from home and abroad to exchange academic ideas and present their achievements, to discuss hot academic issues, thus promoting cooperation among young scholars from different research fields, helping them gain a better understanding of this university in a comprehensive way and attracting more excellent talents from home and abroad.
