On May 8, the fifth China Economist Forum co-sponsored by Sun Yefang Economic Science Foundation (SYESF), Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles (ZFHSSC), and ZUFE was held at ZUFE's Xiasha Campus. This year's forum adopted a combination of online and offline approaches. Its theme was: theoretical innovation and the practice of common prosperity in China. Some attended the forum via video; they were Jiang Xiaojuan, former Deputy Secretary General of the State Council and former dean of Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management, Li Jiange, Chairman of SYESF, Cai Fang, former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASC), Zhang Zhuoyuan, former Director of Institute of Economics of CASC, Lu Mai, Vice Chairman of the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), Zhang Shouwen, President of Economic Law Research Association of the China Law Society (CLS), and Li Shi, Senior Professor of Liberal Arts of Zhejiang University; besides, Sheng Shihao, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Chairman of ZFHSSC, Guo Huawei, Secretary of the Leading Party Group of ZFHSSC, Lan Jianping, Vice President of Zhejiang Development and Planning Institute (DPI), members of ZUFE leadership team including Li Jinchang, Zhong Xiaomin, Li Zhanrong, Dong Jincai and Lou Danqun, and heads of relevant functional departments and representatives of teachers and students attended the forum. The opening ceremony and the keynote report of the forum were presided over by Zhong Xiaomin, Deputy Secretary of the university's CPC Committee and President of ZUFE, and Li Zhanyong, Vice President of ZUFE respectively.

On behalf of ZFHSSC, Guo Huawei extended congratulations on the convening of this forum. He said that this year, Zhejiang would be committed to making significant breakthroughs, exploring several innovative institutional models of common prosperity, and planning a series of major reform programs, which could not be achieved without the strong support of the social science theoretical community. He hoped that the forum would focus on the theme of "Theoretical Innovation and Practice of Common Prosperity in China", and the vivid experience and rich practical achievements in Zhejiang's reform and development could be refined into applicable, theoretical and institutional results with Zhejiang characteristics that would influence the whole nation. By doing so, Zhejiang could provide relevant materials, experience, and samples for the development of common prosperity nationwide.

In his speech, Li Jiange paid special tribute to Sun Yefang Economic Science Prize Literature Library. He said that since its establishment, the library achieved admirable results in the short years of literature collection. In particular, he mentioned that the editions and different printings of Xue Muqiao's Political Economy collected in recent years through various channels amounted to more than 90, which was probably a record collection of individual writings among all kinds of literature libraries in China. Besides, he highly praised ZUFE's cooperation with the Sun Yefang Foundation as a remarkable model.

Li Jinchang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university, said that the China Economist Forum became an academic exchange platform for an in-depth discussion on the frontier issues of China's economic and social development and for sorting out and summarizing the practical experience of local reform. Focusing on the theme of the forum, the experts and scholars had a warm discussion, exploring economic and realistic issues. They would further inspire theoretical thinking and collide with the sparks of ideas, promote the development of the study of common prosperity, and inject power and vitality into the theoretical innovation and practice of common prosperity. ZUFE would also take this event as an opportunity to further strengthen the exchange and cooperation with domestic sister institutions and scientific research institutes, continuously improve the school operation and the ability to advance local economic and social development, and contribute more "ZUFE efforts" to advance the reform and innovation of higher education and promote common prosperity.

Nine experts, including Jiang Xiaojuan, Cai Fang, Zhang Zhuoyuan, Lu Mai, Zhang Shouwen, Sheng Shihao, Li Shi, Lan Jianping, and Li Jinchang, delivered keynote speeches respectively, focusing on "Promoting Shared Development through Digital Economy", "Countdown to Achieving Modernization", "Promoting Common Prosperity through Children's Development", "Common Prosperity in the New Development Stage and Its Realization Path", "Striving to Improve the Income Distribution System", "Rural Revitalization: The Way to Common Prosperity" "Achieving Common Prosperity Requires Institutional Innovation" "Logics and Principles from Open Reform to Digital Reform - Towards a New Era of Digital Civilization" and "Several Issues in the Perspective of Common Prosperity Statistics". Through this forum, scientific and theoretical guidance was provided for promoting institutional innovation in the construction of common prosperity demonstration zones in Zhejiang, making breakthroughs in key reforms, and summarizing landmark achievements, which would help Zhejiang find solutions to common problems and lead the way to common prosperity first.
The China Economist Forum was held for five consecutive years, aiming to build an academic exchange platform for an in-depth discussion on the frontier issues of China's economic and social development and to summarize the practical experience of local reforms. This year's forum will be held from May 14 to 15 with four sub-forums: "Rural Revitalization and Common Prosperity", "Statistical Monitoring of Common Prosperity", "Financial Innovation and Common Prosperity", and "Digital Reform and Common Prosperity".
