On the morning of June 23, the 2022 Graduation & Commencement Ceremony was held at ZUFE's Xiasha Campus.
ZUFE leaders, including Li Jinchang, Zhong Xiaomin, Huang Jianxin, Yu Jiansen, Wang Kuiquan, Sun Xudong, Li Zhanyong, Xu Xiaodong, Dong Jincai, Shen Tuli, and Lou Danqun, attended the ceremony. Besides, the heads of each functional department of ZUFE, deans of each school, deputy secretaries in charge of student work, representatives of teachers and parents of graduates, counselors of graduation classes, and all graduates of 2022 witnessed this wonderful and unforgettable moment. The ceremony was presided over by Yu Jiansen, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university.
Li Jinchang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university, presented graduation souvenirs to the representatives of graduates and hoped that the students would forge ahead with perseverance and calmness, and make contributions to society!
Zhong Xiaomin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the university said in his speech entitled "A Journey to the Future Together" that the graduates of 2022 were riding on the momentum of the great era. Over the past four years, the students have tried to overcome the difficulties brought by the epidemic, stuck to their original intention of college education, gained professional knowledge, expanded their vision, developed their talents and abilities, strengthened their physical and mental health, sharpened their wills and character, and always met their best selves without any regret. Zhong Xiaomin encouraged the graduates to start a new journey to the future and reminded them to shoulder responsibilities and to keep in mind their families and the mother country. They should align themselves with the needs of the country and the people in the course of their life, bear the burden of the times in all fields of work in the future, contribute to the country with their wisdom, and contribute to society with their pioneering efforts. As they embark on a new journey, the graduates should be tough-minded and innovative. He hoped that the graduates would adhere to an innovative mindset, uphold innovative thinking and the ability to innovate, always be curious about life, keep learning new things in different fields, and through deep learning, deep thinking, and hard work, break through a fixed mindset and cognitive limitations, and constantly accumulate life wisdom and realize the value of life. Besides, he believed that they should strive for the future and work hard. He hoped that the graduates would not be trapped in extreme ambition, and would be down to earth and work hard, to lay a solid foundation for future development, grow continuously, make remarkable performances, and step into new heights in life. Finally, he wished the students happy graduation and a bright future!
Professor Tang Yaojia, the representative of teachers, from the School of Economics, hoped that after graduation, the students could realize their self-value, not be indulgent or selfish, and could help others, bringing well-being, confidence, and warmth to more people, and lighting up the world with love.
Chen Sanchun, an alumnus who graduated in 1996 and chairman of Hangzhou Juheng Investment Co., Ltd, shared his understanding of "excellence" with his working experiences and encouraged students to keep working hard and improving, and move forward bravely to realize their self-worth.
Guo Hongwen, a representative of the graduates, from Class 2 of Environmental Design 2018 of the School of Arts, said that the graduates should never forget the ambition, moral integrity, and strength of ZUFE.
Ms. Sun Min, a representative of the graduates’ parents and mother of Li Yang, an English major at the School of Foreign Languages, expressed her gratitude to the school for its unfailing efforts in talent cultivation and urged the graduates not to retreat in the face of difficulties, to keep their original intention in the face of temptations, to live up to the school and their youth, and to be a kind, loving, healthy and brave person.
Mr. Huang Jianxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university, read out the list of 2022 provincial outstanding graduates, and 156 undergraduates were awarded the title of "Outstanding Graduates of Zhejiang Province".
During the ceremony, the representatives of students who won the honorary title of provincial outstanding graduates, and the representatives of graduate students who got admitted into famous universities at home and abroad for further education, were honored. The representatives of graduates reported to their alma mater and presented flowers to their teachers, and more than 140 students were appointed as alumni liaison members of the graduates of 2022.
Besides, the music video for 2022 graduates “To Youth, To Future” was premiered. The audience followed the melody and waved their cell phones into a sea of stars, waving goodbye to their past four years of undergraduate studies and starting a new stage of life.
The degree conferment ceremony followed the graduation ceremony, in which ZUFE leaders and professors awarded degree certificates to the graduates' representatives, turned the tassels, conferred degrees on the graduates one by one, and took photos with them.
The ceremony was broadcast live on the school's official WeChat and Weibo accounts, allowing graduates, teachers, students, alumni, and parents who could not come to the site to witness the graduation and commencement ceremony together.
