ZUFE International Students Make Zongzi to Have a Bite of China

Time:June 20, 2023  clicks:

On June 20, the School of International Education and Studies, jointly with the Center of Logistics Services, organized an event for international students to make Zongzi, helping them experience the joy of labor, share the fruits of their labor, and immerse themselves in the rich atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival.

With ingredients like glutinous rice, red beans, and bamboo leaves neatly arranged, international students, under the guidance of experienced chefs, learned to make Zongzi with great enthusiasm. They carefully wrapped the bamboo leaves into funnels, filled them with glutinous rice and red bean paste, added another layer of glutinous rice, folded the leaves, and tied them with strings. Although the Zongzi made by international students came in various shapes, the process brought them immeasurable joy and a sense of accomplishment.

Making Zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival has become one of the series of activities for international students to experience Chinese traditional culture. This activity not only enriches their extracurricular lives but also deepens their understanding of Chinese culture, allowing them to feel the infinite charm of China’s fine traditional culture.
