On November 21, the opening ceremony of the Second ZUFE "Shuxiu Wenhua" International Cultural Festival was held. Lou Danqun, a member of the ZUFE's Party Committee, Head of the Organization Department and United Front Work Department, attended the opening ceremony along with the heads of relevant functional departments, the vice secretaries of the Party Committee in charge of student affairs in each school, and representatives of teachers and students.
Lou Danqun stated that the university is dedicated to innovating teaching methods and paradigms tailored to international students. The establishment of the "Wenhua Academy" marks a significant step in this endeavor, aiming to develop a distinctive and holistic training framework for international students that seamlessly integrates cultural immersion, specialized knowledge, and practical experience. The grand opening ceremony commenced with a spectacular Hanfu show, setting the stage ablaze as young talents from across the globe alternated in delivering captivating performances. Each artist proudly presented their signature skills, unveiling a tapestry of distinctive musical and dance traditions from diverse nations. The audience was treated to a audiovisual feast in an incredibly lively atmosphere.
The ceremony also included the award presentation for the Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in China for the 2022-2023 academic year, the University International Student Scholarship, and the first "International Students Chinese Cultural Communication and Creativity Competition". It served to honor the exceptional achievements of students who had earned a variety of scholarships throughout the previous academic year, encouraging international student to continue their pursuit of excellence and to achieve even greater accomplishments. The university, in collaboration with Hangzhou English Radio, inaugurated the "China Experience Base for Overseas Students" through a plaque-unveiling ceremony. This initiative aims to immerse international students in China's rich cultural traditions and foster their appreciation for the country's spirit of innovation, openness, and inclusivity.
In recent years, the university has always been committed to promoting international cultural exchanges and cooperation, actively serving the diplomatic need of major countries and supporting the Belt and Road Initiative. These efforts have culminated in the creation of a unique international student education system that is tailored to the characteristics of Zhejiang University of the Finance and Economics. At present, the university is home to more than 370 international students from 39 countries and regions.
