On March 15, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) hosted its annual Spring Job Fair for Graduates of 2024 at the Xiasha Campus. Li Jinchang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of ZUFE, and Wang Kuiquan, a member of the CPC Committee of ZUFE and Vice President of ZUFE, visited the recruitment site to express their support and learn about employers' needs. They engaged in friendly conversations with soon-to-be graduates attending the event. Heads of relevant administrative departments, deans responsible for student affairs from various schools, and student counselors were also present, enthusiastically endorsing their students to potential recruiters.
The job fair attracted numerous renowned companies from both China and abroad, including over 300 prominent domestic enterprises such as China Construction Bank, Geely Holding Group, CITIC Securities, Wuchan Zhongda Group, and Pan-China Certified Public Accountants LLP. They offered a total of more than 8,000 positions across all majors offered at ZUFE. Over 5,000 undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students participated in interviews and sought employment, with more than 800 individuals reaching preliminary employment agreements.
Adding to the event's impact, the job fair featured exclusive zones for mentor-mentee interactions and international education consultancy as part of the Fifth "Talent Endowment" Career Festival. These zones provided on-site students with personalized and professional services, ranging from career counseling and resume guidance to overseas study planning. These resources aimed to empower students to make informed career decisions, encourage proactive planning, and enhance their job application skills.
Since the spring of 2024, there has been a noticeable rebound in job demand for college graduates, accompanied by an increase in job-seeking and recruitment activities. ZUFE prioritizes career development education for its undergraduates. Through initiatives such as corporate outreach, policy interpretation, channel expansion, and advisory services, it has significantly strengthened the effectiveness of its career guidance services.
ZUFE continuously strives to facilitate student employment by hosting events like the "Talent Endowment Career Festival", enriching the function of its "one-stop" student community, and upgrading the "ZUFE Employment Information Website" and the "Students' Career Assessment System". These measures refine platforms and event formats, further promoting the integration and job sharing between the university's smart employment system and the Zhejiang Provincial College Student Employment Platform. This creates more intelligent and convenient job-matching services for students.
Looking ahead, ZUFE plans to prioritize on-campus recruitment while refining and enhancing its career guidance services. Beyond large-scale comprehensive job fairs, they will organize industry-specific, discipline-focused, and tier-specialized recruitment events tailored to graduates' preferences. These efforts aim to promote precise matchmaking and increase the effectiveness of recruitment activities. Ultimately, these concerted actions seek to facilitate earlier and higher-quality employment for the graduating students of 2024.
