From June 8 to 25, the Summer School and Chinese Bridge Program hosted by the School of International Education and Studies were successfully held. Zheng Yali, Vice President of ZUFE, attended and delivered a speech at the opening camp ceremony. A total of 31 teachers and students from Almaty Management University (Kazakhstan) gained a comprehensive understanding of China’s economic development experience through specialized courses and field research, immersed themselves in Chinese culture, and explored new opportunities for China-Kazakhstan friendly cooperation.
In her speech, Zheng Yali extended a warm welcome to all participants on behalf of ZUFE. She pointed out that with the theme of “China’s Economic Development and Cultural Experience”, this program had elaborately designed a distinctive curriculum system featuring “Theory + Practice” and “Tradition + Modernity”. Through diverse forms including special lectures, enterprise visits and cultural experiences, it provided participants with a full range of opportunities to learn about China. She hoped participants would cherish this valuable learning opportunity, deeply engage with Chinese culture, witness China’s development, and serve as bridges and bonds for China and Kazakhstan friendly exchanges.
It is reported that the curriculum of the Summer School was closely aligned with cutting-edge fields such as China’s digital economy and cross-border e-commerce. Theoretical courses including Large Model and Management Decision-making, China’s Digital Economy Policies and Practices were offered, combined with “Cross-border E-commerce Simulation Practice”, to help participants gain an in-depth understanding of the innovation drivers of China’s economy. Participants also visited the China National Tea Museum and China National Silk Museum to experience China’s time-honored cultural heritage. In addition, ZUFE organized a thematic symposium on “China-Kazakhstan Friendly Cooperation”, inviting representatives of domestic and Kazakh students to discuss topics such as economic and trade exchanges, cultural communication and youth interaction.
The “Chinese Bridge” Program adopted the “Language Immersion + Industry Cognition” model, integrating “Fine Traditional Chinese Culture” into Chinese language courses and planning a series of cultural practice activities. Participants not only systematically completed basic Chinese language courses and successfully passed the HSK Level 1 Test, but also personally experienced traditional Chinese cultural activities including Hanfu dressing and paper-cutting art. During the program, participants visited the sericulture and silk weaving industry in Zhouwangmiao Town, Haining, to learn about the development of China’ s characteristic rural industries; they also visited enterprises including Hikvision and Pimax Technology, witnessing the “China Speed” of traditional industrial transformation and scientific and technological innovation. Amid the poetic atmosphere of the Former Residence of Xu Zhimo and the vigorous vitality of Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City, participants gained a profound understanding of the coordinated development of China’ s “soft power” and “hard technology.”
The successful holding of this Summer School and Chinese Bridge Program has laid a solid foundation for the in-depth cooperation between ZUFE and Almaty Management University of Kazakhstan. In the next step, the two sides will further diversify exchange activities and innovate cooperation models, and work hand in hand in the fields of talent cultivation and academic research to inject new impetus into people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as educational cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
