Recently, the Global Cross-border E-commerce Trade Expo grandly kicked off at Hangzhou Grand Convention & Exhibition Center. The expo gathered over 35 globally leading cross-border e-commerce platforms, more than 150 professional cross-border e-commerce service providers, 1,000 robust source manufacturers from industrial belts, alongside over 100 higher education institutions and cross-border recruitment enterprises. Relevant personnel and student representatives from ZUFE’s School of International Education and Studies were invited to attend the event.

Yao Gaoyuan, Mayor of Hangzhou, inspected the Expo and met specially with  Shan Beiming, a Russian international student from ZUFE. Mayor Yao cordially asked about the student’s academic pursuits and career expectations. Learning that Shan intended to devote himself to Hangzhou’s cross-border e-commerce sector, the mayor encouraged him: “As the capital of cross-border e-commerce, Hangzhou is eager for young globally-minded talents just like you. We hope you can set off on your journey here, secure an ideal career platform, and fuel the rapid growth of Hangzhou’s digital trade.”

In recent years, ZUFE has taken proactive steps to serve key national initiatives and aligned its development with the Belt and Road initiative (BRI). ZUFE has launched degree programs in Cross-border E-commerce and International Economics and Trade for international students, striving to cultivate high-quality innovative and entrepreneurial international talents --the “K+MAQ-oriented Talents” -- equipped with a global vision to support the BRI’s development. Moving forward, ZUFE will further deepen integration between industry and education, construct collaborative university-enterprise talent development platforms, and continue to build the “Study Abroad at ZUFE” brand.
