On November 26, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (ZUFE) held the 2025 review and evaluation meeting on students’ overseas study programs. Zheng Yali, Vice President of the University, together with heads of relevant functional departments, officials responsible for student affairs from various schools, and representatives of program leaders, attended the meeting.

Zheng Yali pointed out that overseas study programs are an important initiative for further advancing the University’s "New Finance and Economics Strategy" and cultivating international talents with both a strong sense of national commitment and a global vision. She put forward three requirements for future work. First, efforts should continue to promote the Safe Study Abroad initiative, with the safety of students and faculty always placed as the top priority. Second, practical pre-departure training programs should be strengthened, while improving document and credential management and continuously enhancing students’ and faculty members’ awareness of safety and emergency response capabilities. Third, greater efforts should be made to transform and apply the outcomes of overseas study programs, further extending their educational impact and supporting students’ growth and development.

At the meeting, the head of the International Office reported on the operation of overseas study programs in 2025, existing challenges, and plans for future work. Faculty representatives from the School of Economics, School of Humanities, Student Affairs Office, Wenhua School, School of Finance, School of Management, School of Data Sciences, and School of Arts shared their experiences leading student groups abroad. Drawing on their experiences, they introduced program preparation, learning outcomes, and mutual learning among civilizations, while sharing insights into daily management overseas and offering suggestions for future improvements.

Following on-site evaluation, the list of recipients for the 2025 World Top Universities Study Tour grants and the Undergraduate Overseas Study Scholarships was finalized.

In 2025, more than 400 students from across the university participated in exchange and study programs at world-renowned institutions, including the University of Cambridge, Nanyang Technological University, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, representing a year-on-year increase of 64%. The University has initially established a new framework led by its distinctive and competitive disciplines and covering all academic schools. Through participation in cutting-edge interdisciplinary courses and multicultural learning experiences at overseas universities, students have enhanced their cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills, critical thinking abilities, and interdisciplinary competencies.
