Founded in 1999, the School of Business Administration has four departments, namely, Department of Marketing (established in 1994), Department of Business Administration (established in 1999), Department of Human Resources Management (established in 2000), and Department of Logistics Management (established in 2005). The school started to offer the Master of Management program in 2003, and Master of business administration (MBA) program in 2009. The major of business administration was selected as the featured major of Zhejiang Province in 2014 and 2017 respectively, and the discipline of business administration has been named top-ranking discipline of Zhejiang Province from 2015. At present, the School has 1182 undergraduate students and 452 postgraduate students.
The school has a well-structured and high-quality academic staff team with remarkable teaching and research potentials. There are 16 professors and 28 associate professors in the school, and 60 of the 64 teaching staff members hold a PhD degree. There are also some visiting scholarsfrom the USand Canada who are intensively involved in delivering economics or management related courses.
Over the last five years, the school has been granted 18 research projects from the National Natural Science Foundation or the National Social Science Foundation, and more than 50 research projects in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Ministry of Education of China and others. The school has gained two Excellent Research Awards in Humanities and Social Sciences from the Ministry of Education of China, and published more than 100 research papers on top journals such asEconomic Research, Management World, Journal of Psychology, China Industrial Economics, Production and Operations Management, and Journal of Environmental Planning and Management.
Our school gives full play to the advantage of disciplines and places an emphasis on the cultivation of students, equipping them with professional knowledge and skills. In the past five years, we have won 105 academic competition awards at the provincial level and above. The initial employment rate of undergraduates and postgraduates are above 95% and 100% respectively. 297 undergraduates have been admitted to famous universities like Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Columbia University, University College London, Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, The University of Edinburgh, Johns Hopkins University and The University of Manchester and so on. The Chinese-American Marketing Cooperation Program has gained great achievements. So far it has admitted 731 students,among whom 95 have been enrolled in The University of Toledo for further studies and 80 have been awarded excellent and even the best graduates of UT.
