2021 Forum on Frontier Quantitative Economics Held at ZUFE

On June 20, the 2021 Frontier Forum on Quantitative Economics and the opening ceremony of the Institute of Quantitative Economics Research of ZUFE (ZUFE-IQER) were held at the Xiasha campus. More than 50 people attended this meeting, including Jinchang Li, secretary of ZUFE’s Party Committee, Yongyou Li, vice president of ZUFE, and domestic experts and scholars in quantitative economics, as well as representatives of teachers and students from ZUFE. The opening and unveiling ceremonies of the forum were presided over by Zhengxin Wang, dean of the School of Economics of ZUFE.

In Mr. Li's speech, he expressed his congratulations on the holding of this forum and the establishment of IQER on behalf of the university, extended his warm welcome and sincere thanks to all the experts and scholars present, and made a brief introduction to ZUFE and the team for the discipline of Quantitative Economics. He said that ZUFE would further promote theoretical innovation and applied research on quantitative economics, continuously enhance capabilities on social services and collaborative innovation, so as to contribute wisdom and strength to striving for creating a pioneering province of socialist modernization and building a demonstration zone for common prosperity by supporting IQER.

ZUFE-IQER was jointly unveiled by Mr. Li, Xuesong Li, secretary of the party committee and deputy director of the Institute of Industrial Economics (IIE) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), Shiyi Chen, deputy secretary of the party committee and executive vice president of Anhui University, Weiguo Wang, vice president of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, and Yahong Zhou, dean of the School of Economics of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

The convening of this forum has played a positive role in advancing academic exchanges in frontier quantitative economics and the construction and development of relevant disciplines.
