On July 16, the swimming competition of the 14th National Student Games ended in Qingdao, Shandong Province. After fierce competition, Lin Tong, who was enrolled to ZUFE in 2018 as a major of marketing at ZUFE School of Business Administration, won the championship in the women's 200m backstroke of Group B among universities, at two minutes and 10.55 seconds.
Meanwhile, Tong also won 2nd place in the women's 100m backstroke of Group B, 6th in the women's 4 X 100 freestyle relay, 5th in the mixed 4 X 100 freestyle relay, and 6th in the women's 4 X 200 freestyle relay of the same Group.
The 14th National Student Games was sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China, the General Administration of Sports of China, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. With the theme of "Following the Party, chasing after dreams, and being the best youth," approximately 7,200 athletes from a total of 33 delegations across the country joined in this sports meet, with its scale and the number of participants hitting a record high. This swimming competition was divided into three groups: University Group A, University Group B, and the Middle School Group (19 men's and 19 women's events, and four men's and women's mixed relays for each group). Twenty-five teams from all over the country -- a total of 661 athletes -- attended this sports gala.
