On December 8, the 2023 UN Big Data Hackathon China Division was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Professor Wu Shaohua's team from ZUFE won the second prize and the Best Visualization Award in the competition respectively for their research titled Analysis Based on Remote Sensing Big Data: Promoting Harmonious Coexistence between Man and Nature in Zhejiang through the "Green Rural Revival Program" and Research on the Optimal Regulation of "Intra- and Extra-regional Food Supply" for the Coordinated Development of Food Security and Carbon Emission Reduction.

The analysis evaluates the "Green Rural Revival Program's" impact on Zhejiang Province over the past two decades and proposes strategies and recommendations for its further enhancement in the new era, aiming to share experience and wisdom from Zhejiang with underdeveloped areas in China and even around the world. The Research evaluates the potential for the potential for increasing grain yields, enhancing carbon sequestration, and reducing emissions and optimizes the spatial layout of agricultural production. It not only provides the scientific basis for China’s food security and carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals but also offers Chinese wisdom and solutions to achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 13: Climate Change).

The 2023 UN Big Data Hackathon China Division, hosted by the United Nations Statistics Division and jointly organized by the United Nations Global Platform for Big Data China Hub and Zhejiang Lab, drew nearly 100 teams from renowned universities, enterprises, institutions, and government agencies from both domestic and international circles. Among them, 12 teams from prestigious universities and top institutions, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and the University of Hong Kong, entered the finals.
