On March 30, after a fierce competition in both the preliminary rounds and the final showdown, ZUFE swept the top honors in the Poetry Recital Contest for International Students in Zhejiang Province, securing one first prize and two other awards.

In the Contest, three international students from ZUFE advanced to the finals. Among them, ABRAMOVA ANNA from Uzbekistan won the first prize for her recitation of A Lane in the Rain (instructed by Zhao Qian and Wei Yangyang). BOGDANOVA TATIANA from Russia took the third prize for her recitation of Rain in Jiangnan (instructed by Wei Yangyang and Chen Sihan). DIVISENKO ANASTASIIA from Russia was awarded a merit award for her recitation of Poetic China (instructed by Zhao Qian and Chai Zhixian).

Since the launch of the Contest, the university has organized a poetry recital contest for international students, which has galvanized the participation of international students and elicited fervent support from the faculty. Engaging in recitation, these students have gained a deeper understanding of Zhejiang and China, experienced the distinctive charm of the Chinese language and appreciated the profound beauty of Chinese culture. This has sparked a craze among international students across the university to further their studies in Chinese language and immerse themselves in the rich experiences of Chinese culture.

Co-hosted by the China Scholarship Council, the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province, the Information Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the Foreign Affairs Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, and Zhejiang Media Group, the Contest is themed "Poetry and Painting in Jiangnan, Beautiful China". It aims to enable international students to deeply appreciate the refined allure of Chinese culture in Southern China, revel in the fascination of Chinese poetry and promote Chinese culture through recitations of Chinese classic and contemporary literary works. More than 300 international students from over 40 universities across the province competed in this prestigious event, marking an unprecedented level of participation. Ultimately, it awarded three first prizes, six second prizes, and ten third prizes.
