On March 13, according to the latest ESI rankings released by Clarivate Analytics, the Economics and Business discipline of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics made its debut in the global top 1% of ESI, marking a new breakthrough in the Summit Advanced Discipline Development.

The data period for this ranking covers January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2024. Currently, there are four disciplines at our university ranked among the global top 1% in ESI: Engineering (ranked 1061st globally and 240th domestically), General Theory of Social Sciences (ranked 954th globally and 62nd domestically), Environment/Ecology (ranked 1682nd globally and 265th domestically), and Economics and Business (ranked 531st globally and 46th domestically).

Based on over 10 million bibliographic records sourced from more than 12,000 academic journals indexed in SCI (Science Citation Index) and SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index), ESI is a bibliometric analysis database. It has evolved into one of the vital benchmarking tools widely adopted worldwide to assess the international academic standing and influence of universities, research institutions as well as countries and regions.
