During his special research tour on the University Infrastructure Upgrading Project, Liu Jie stressed:
To shore up weak links, strengthen deficient sectors, optimize spatial layout and elevate development quality for the holistic improvement of higher education’s connotative development.
On the afternoon of March 27, Liu Jie, Governor of Zhejiang Province visited ZUFE to inspect University Infrastructure Upgrading Project. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the important of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Zhejiang Province and his significant remarks on higher education, anchor the goal of building a strong province in higher education and further carry out the quality improvement project for university infrastructure. Efforts should focus on addressing shortcomings, strengthening weak areas, optimizing layout, and enhancing quality, thereby promoting the development and overall advancement of higher education, providing strong support for high-quality development and the construction of a common prosperity demonstration zone.

At ZUFE, Liu Jie visited the library and student residential zones to learn about the fundamentals of the university’s construction and development and the progress of the Higher Education Infrastructure Upgrading Project. He pointed out that ZUFE should closely integrate national needs, future trends, Zhejiang’s capabilities, and the university’s strengths, fully leverage its disciplinary advantages, actively carry out forward-looking research, further optimize talent cultivation, enhance research capabilities, and expand the role of think tanks. ZUFE should promote high-level development with greater effort and higher standards to accelerate the establishment of a distinctive first-class finance and economics university. Efforts should be made to fully advance project construction, improve educational conditions, and effectively enhance the sense of well-being, gain, and security among faculty and students.
During the inspection, Liu Jie stressed that infrastructure is a fundamental basis for universities to implement the strategy of a strong province in higher education, boost institutional development level, and achieve high-quality development. Universities shall assume primary duties under the guideline of “One university, One policy”, secure resource support, define accountability, timelines and schedules, tighten project and safety supervision, and deliver high-quality, people-focused and projects on schedule of integrity.
